Jayden Bogle makes ‘fantastic’ Leeds United admission ahead of Sheffield United reunion

Jayden Bogle says the direction Leeds United want to go in is “fantastic” as he prepares to face former club Sheffield United on Friday (18 October).

Since arriving from the Blades at the club in the summer, Bogle has been a mainstay of the Whites’ backline – helping the club to sit fifth through nine games, just three points off leaders Sunderland.

Bogle spoke in an interview with Leeds’ club channels (17 October), and says everyone in the team is pushing each other to want more.

Bogle said: “The main thing is to keep demanding more from each other and demanding more from myself each game. I think that’s the mentality you need to have when going into these games.”

On his first few months at the club, he added: “I’ve really enjoyed it, as I’ve said before it’s a fantastic club. The mentality of the club and everyone around it and the direction they want to go in is fantastic.”

Leeds’ impressive start to the season has showcased just how much talent they have in the squad. Players like Wilfried Gnonto, Junior Firpo and Bogle have shown why they are deemed to be some of the best players in the division.

Although a late equaliser from Sunderland in their previous fixture perhaps overshadowed their good start, Leeds have set themselves up well for what will inevitably be a promotion-chasing campaign.

If the Whites can use the January transfer window to their advantage, it will put them in a very strong position for a title charge in the second half of the season.

Several players like Gnonto and Firpo have been linked with moves away in the window but if Leeds are able to retain their services, it would be a huge signal of intent going forward.

Friday’s (18 October) encounter against the unbeaten Blades will provide Leeds with arguably their biggest test yet and with Farke’s side yet to beat a side in the current top six, it provides a real opportunity for them to stamp their authority and demonstrate their true promotion credentials.
