Leeds United speak to Al-Gharafa manager Pedro Martins
Leeds United have reportedly made contact with Al-Gharafa manager Pedro Martins as they look to appoint Jesse Marsch’s successor.
According to the Times on 14 February, they spoke to the 52-year-old this week as he is one among a number of names being considered by the hierarchy.
The Portuguese won three league titles in four seasons at Olympiacos before moving to the Middle East this season.

Good option
Martins seems to be the manager who’s ready for a Premier League job after impressing in the less-prominent European leagues.
Winning the Greek league is not an easy job as Carlos Corberan found out and he was soon made redundant by the club.
The Portuguese succeeded where Corberan failed and could be ready to manage a club of the stature of Leeds United.
It will be a low-risk appointment as they will hand him the keys until the end of the season and if he fails, then he will be shown the door.

Rather than Nuno Espirito Santo and Steven Gerrard – both of whom have struggled in the Premier League recently – Leeds need someone with fresh ideas.
He’s also got a penchant of winning league titles and that’s surely going to inspire this Leeds dressing room that has lacked a real leader in the last year.
