Leeds United speak out after viral video of players ignoring fans at Bournemouth

The LUFC trust has shared that the club is seeking to get in contact with a family of Leeds United supporters after a video emerged on social media, showing the players ignoring fans as they made their way to the game at Bournemouth.

The incident has gone viral in the aftermath of the 4-1 loss at the Vitality Stadium as the Whites’ relegation fears increased.

Following the comment from the Trust on their Twitter account, they stated that the players should be apologising for failing to acknowledge the fans.

Following the viral video, the reaction came from the LUFC Trust on Monday morning.

“Has anyone managed to find the details of this family,” they asked. “If so, please DM.

“We’ve spoken to the club and they have been trying to get a hold of them to put things right, and quite rightly it should be the players apologising directly.”

From bad to worse

In public situations like this, club representatives, and especially the players need to be aware of what is going on around them.

An embarrassing situation has been created which could easily have been avoided, adding insult to injury off the pitch, as well as on it.

It is a PR disaster that the club now needs to rectify and so they should.

A quick photo, an autograph, or even a wave is the very least that should be given back, considering what dedicated supporters give to follow their club, especially for away games like the one on the south coast, yesterday.

The bad news just keeps on coming at present, with relegation becoming a more likely prospect. A daunting final four fixtures lie ahead in which it is difficult to see where the points will come from, for Javi Gracia’s side.

The Spanish coach desperately needs to find inspiration or ingenuity quickly in order to avoid a return to the Championship.
