Leeds United slammed live on talkSPORT by Jason Cundy after what happened v Chelsea
Jason Cundy hit out at “dirty” Leeds United after they pushed Chelsea all the way in Wednesday’s (28 February) FA Cup tie.
Leeds took the led and then levelled up at 2-2 after falling behind before Conor Gallagher struck in the final minute of normal time.
Daniel Farke’s men pushed their big-spending Premier League opponents all the way, but former Chelsea defender Cundy was not impressed.
“Leeds, dirty Leeds. I couldn’t care less [about them],” he said on talkSPORT [29 February, 10:06pm].
Leeds United turn focus back to Championship
Cundy is no doubt well aware of the historic rivalry between these two clubs, so his comments must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Leeds more than held their own at Stamford Bridge and will perhaps wonder what might have been on another day.
Even accounting for Chelsea’s changes on the back of their Carabao Cup final loss to Liverpool, Leeds can be proud of their performance.
The pain of losing so late in the last-16 tie can now act as added motivation – as if any were needed – heading into the final stretch of the season.

After exiting the cup, all focus now is on earning promotion from the Championship, ideally via the automatic spots.
However it is achieved, Leeds fans are desperate for this Chelsea fixture to be played twice a season again in the Premier League.
On the basis of United’s performances so far in 2024, there is no reason why that is not now an attainable target.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites youngster is surely now in Daniel Farke’s thoughts after landing an award this week.
