Leeds United slammed by Simon Jordan as footage emerges after 4-1 Premier League loss v Bournemouth
Simon Jordan has slammed Leeds United after a video emerged of the players ignoring fans after their 4-1 humiliation by Bournemouth.
Goals from Dominic Solanke, Antoine Semenyo and Jefferson Lerma saw Gary O’Neil’s side to a comprehensive victory on Sunday to leave Javi Gracia’s men facing relegation in the face.
A video emerged (Sport Bible via Twitter, 1 May) after the fixture of the players leaving the team hotel and blatantly ignoring the gathering fans. Jordan has since reacted to the footage on Twitter (1 May).
“Players have got to do better. I think they forget where they’ve come from,” he said.
Shocking
This is absolutely shocking and the players should be ashamed. Are they not aware of the completely abject and gutless performance they just served up? They should be the ones talking to the fans, providing reassurances of their commitment to keeping the club in the Premier League.
Sadly, all this footage shows is that the players are fairly disinterested. They’re disconnected from the fanbase and also not playing for the manager. It’s a bad combination. Despite Leeds occupying a place above the dotted line, it feels like Championship football is on the agenda.
You simply cannot concede this many goals and expect to pick up points. At present, the Whites are having to score at least three goals to even stand a chance of adding a point to their total.
With Gracia’s reign now in tatters, the board should roll the dice once more. Give the job to Michael Skubala and simply hope for the best. The word mess doesn’t even come close to describing to ongoings at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Gracia is now firmly under pressure at Elland Road.
