Leeds United: Sky Sports pundit thrilled with Kieran Tierney transfer development in March

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has suggested Kieran Tierney would be a “great” signing for Leeds United but has accepted a potential move is unlikely.

According to 90min (8 March), the Whites are one of several Premier League sides monitoring the Scotland international, who has fallen out of favour at The Emirates.

It’s understood Tierney is earning in the region of £110,000-a-week (The Athletic, 18 June 2021) after agreeing on a new five-year deal with The Gunners in 2021.

However, Robinson believes Leeds will be fighting with teams who have “deeper pockets” when it comes to the former Celtic left-back.

“Yes, I think Tierney would be a great acquisition for Leeds. Should they go into the Championship, he’s not a realistic target,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“Should they stay in the Premier League I think they’ll be fighting with people who have got deeper pockets.”

The 25-year-old has largely been utilised as a substitute by Mikel Arteta during the 2022/23 season after the summer arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Ukrainian star has been a mainstay for the league leaders and his presence could potentially see Tierney search for minutes elsewhere when the summer window opens.

In other Leeds United news, Ben Foster was blown away by one Whites player in the recent league victory at Wovles.
