Leeds United: Sky Sports pundit Steve Morison delivers verdict on Tyler Adams in World Cup debut

Sky Sports pundit Steve Morison heaped praise on Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams during the United States FIFA World Cup opener against Wales.

Adams shined for his country in their 1-1 draw against Wales in their Group B opening match, which saw them lead for the majority of the game.

Morison admitted Adams was the “best player on the pitch” during the fixture, heaping praise on the Leeds United maestro who captained his country on the night.

“Moore has been the difference. Adams has been the best player on the pitch,” said Morison live-on-air, as quoted on the Sky Sports app.

Class.

Leeds United look to have hit the jackpot with the classy Adams, especially if his performance for his country last night is anything to go by.

Replacing Kalvin Phillips at Leeds was never going to be an easy task, but it’s something Adams has taken on with open arms and is currently thriving in doing.

Key passes and crunching tackles are what the American is all about and he looks like the perfect man to front the Whites’ engine room moving forward.

A solid World Cup from Adams will unfortunately mean one thing, potential interest from Premier League juggernauts who want a piece of the 23-year-old for themselves.

Whatever the case may be, Leeds can hopefully hang onto Adams for the foreseeable, the £20m they paid for him is starting to look like an absolute bank robbery.

Adams faces England next in the FIFA World Cup on Friday 25 November 2022, in what will be a true test of his character and talent.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has revealed the whispers he’s heard at Elland Road about when the 49ers will complete their takeover.
