Sky pundit forced to defend himself after what Boyd alleged he chanted about Leeds
Leeds United managed just one win in six attempts before their victory over Middlesbrough in the North East on 8 April.
The Elland Road faithful had feared that their side would drop out of the automatic promotion spots and into the playoffs in an unwanted repeat of last term’s exploits.
However, Daniel Farke’s men booked their spot in next season’s Premier League with a 6-0 win over Stoke City on 21 April, consigning Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United to the playoffs.
Leeds have successfully turned their form around with four consecutive wins in the Championship ahead of their clash with Bristol City on Monday.

Kris Boyd jokes Clinton Morrison taunted Leeds in promotion race
Before their current run of four consecutive victories, the Whites looked set to be beaten by both Sheffield United and Burnley in the automatic promotion race.
Opponent | Result |
Middlesbrough (A) | 0-1 W |
Preston (H) | 2-1 W |
Oxford (A) | 0-1 W |
Stoke (H) | 6-0 W |
Kris Boyd told Sky Sports News [26 April, 12:35pm]: “It was only a couple of weeks ago people were saying they’d blown it. Clinton was signing Leeds are falling apart again”.
Morrison was quick to defend himself, though, as he replied: “No, I said Leeds and Burnley will go up. Don’t let him wind you up, Leeds fans.”

Farke has done great job to turn Leeds’ form around
After seeing the West Yorkshire giants lose out in last season’s Championship playoff final, Whites supporters will have feared a similar outcome for Farke’s men this season after they endured a poor run of form before their vital win at Middlesbrough.
But Leeds have subsequently hit a rich vein of form at precisely the right time, which proved enough to secure promotion to the Premier League courtesy of Sheffield United’s poor run.
Farke has proven his ability to ensure his side can bounce back from setbacks, which turned out to be the difference between landing a top-two spot and finishing in the playoffs.
However, the Elland Road club will not want to stop there, and will now be eager to beat Burnley to the Championship title.
The Clarets hammered Queens Park Rangers 5-0 in West London on Saturday, and have subsequently leapfrogged Farke’s side into top spot.
Leeds will now have to defeat Bristol City on Monday to help ensure that they win silverware at Burnley’s expense.
