Leeds United: Simon Grayson wowed by Daniel Farke response to ‘negativity’ at Elland Road
Simon Grayson believes Daniel Farke has galvanised Leeds United this season after there was previously some “negativity” around the club.
Speaking to Football League World on Saturday (23 March), the pundit said the fact the German has the previous experience of winning promotion to the Premier League is a “big positive” for the West Yorkshire side.
He added that the 47-year-old wants to play a certain way that the fans “love to see” as he suggested the Whites boss is in a “strong position” at Elland Road.
“I think it’s a big, big positive for Leeds as a club and I think that’s one of the reasons why they appointed him in the first place in the summer,” said Grayson when asked about Farke’s previous promotions.
“He has that experience of winning promotion to the Premier League but what I have been really more impressed about with him is that he gets what the supporters want and need.
“He’s galvanised not just the football club, but the city as well. There was a bit of sort of negativity around but he gets it. He wants to play a certain way that the supporters love to see and that’s full credit to him.
“That’s his experience because he’s been around the block, he knows what it’s all about and worked at some really good clubs where there’s a big expectancy level so I think I think he is in a strong position.”
Daniel Farke deserves credit for Leeds United progress
There is no doubt that Farke deserves great credit for the role he’s done at Leeds this season on the back of the relegation from the Premier League.
There was a bit of negativity around the club last summer after three managers had moved on in just a matter of months and several players were keen to make a quick exit.
But the Whites boss came in and steadied the ship, persuading some of the club’s prized assets to remain at Elland Road and he didn’t let it get him down when others left.

The German appears to have got everyone working towards the same goal and they are playing excellent football on their way to what they hope will be an immediate return to the Premier League.
If they can maintain the form of this calendar year, then it seems pretty inevitable that Farke will be leading his side in the top flight next season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to sell a midfielder for £10.3million after what he told the media.
