Leeds United signing Tyler Adams left shocked by Brenden Aaronson behind the scenes
Leeds United summer signing Tyler Adams was spotted being shocked at seeing Brenden Aaronson wearing the number 7 jersey.
According to LeedsLive’s Beren Cross, footage that was shared by the club’s media channels showed that the American was baffled at the player donning that jersey.
He claims that Adams expected Jack Harrison to wear it after the Englishman played a key role in keeping Leeds up last season.
Via Twitter, Cross shared the still and wrote, “Brenden Aaronson wearing number seven on his training top in the club’s latest video. Tyler Adams shocked Jack Harrison hadn’t taken it for himself.”
Deserves it
The number 7 is a prestigious one regardless of the club one is at and seeing Harrison in that jersey would feel special.
With Raphinha departing and Patrick Bamford’s injury woes persisting, he’s likely to be the club’s go-to attacker next season.
Luis Sinisterra is expected to be a regular on the other flank, but we’re expecting him to take some time before he hits the ground running.
Harrison’s involvement in the game is now going to increase after Raphinha’s departure and we expect a lot of the play to go through him.
Whether or not he’s on penalty duties, remains to be seen, but we do think that he’s a strong contender for it now that the Brazilian is leaving.
One thing that appears to be certain is that he will not be wearing the number 7 and it’ll be interesting to see how Aaronson fares playing in attacking midfield.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a midfielder who was admired by Marcelo Bielsa is set to leave this summer.
