Leeds United show interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah

Leeds United have been in contact with Trevoh Chalobah’s representatives as the Chelsea defender draws Premier League and European interest according to 90min.

It’s believed that Chelsea’s defensive additions have pushed the central defender down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

90min report [23 August] that Serie A and Roma, along with Leeds, Everton, Nottingham Forest and Southampton are all interested in the 23-year-old.

It’s understood that if Chalobah does leave Stamford Bridge, it would be on loan.

Good depth

Central defence is an area that Jesse Marsch does need to improve as the window comes to a close, with some more depth potentially required.

It’s been a brilliant summer on the transfer front for Leeds and if Marsch added Chalobah to his ranks, it will be the American fine-tuning his already well-balanced squad.

Whether a move for the 23-year-old is realistic remains to be seen with Leeds facing some stern competition for the Chelsea defender.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Chalobah make the move to Serie A and potentially follow the footsteps of Fikayo Tomori after his successful transfer to AC Milan.

However, the Chelsea defender could well be encouraged by Leeds’ early season form and positive feeling around Elland Road at the moment.

Chalobah would be a great addition but Leeds fans should probably not hold out too much hope on this one for the time being.

If Thomas Tuchel adds another defender to his ranks, then Chalobah’s future could heat up in the coming weeks.
