Leeds United should take note as Noah Okafor scores CL equaliser v Chelsea
Leeds United have been linked with a move for RB Salzburg striker Noah Okafor – and they should ramp up their interest after he scored against Chelsea in the Champions League.
The 22-year-old goal machine has been in fine form so far this season having netted seven times in 12 matches in the 2022/23 season.
Calciomercato reported (9 September) that Leeds have been linked with a move for the forward along with Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.
The Switzerland international would be a major coup for Jesse Marsch should he pursue a January move in order to bolster his striking options at Elland Road.
A boost for Leeds and Marsch is that the striker is out of contract in the summer of 2024, which means he is now in the final two years of his current deal with the Austrian outfit.
Considering the level of domestic football in Austria, it will be extremely unlikely for Okafor to commit his long-term future to Salzburg. At 22, it would not be a shock to see him move to the Premier League or Bundesliga to continue his progression.

Marsch would be foolish not to look into a January move, with the American clearly able to deal well with his former employers after Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson joined the club over the summer.
Leeds’ striker hunt has been well-documented and it feels as if Marsch has struggled to land a blend of youth and experience when it comes to his work in the window.
Willy Gnonto arrived on deadline day, but with the Italian international only being 18, he will take some time to adapt to life in Yorkshire.
Okafor would be ideal due to his experience of European football whilst still being at an age where he can improve and develop.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites reached an agreement to sign a left-back, according to his agent.
