Leeds United share sarcastic announcement ‘that will shock’ fan as new EFL update emerges

Leeds United have sarcastically announced that their Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers has been moved to a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday 13 April.

The Whites have seen a number of their games this season moved for broadcast on Sky Sports, including recent wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City, much to the frustration of Daniel Farke.

While the date of the clash with Blackburn hasn’t changed, the Whites shared the news “that will shock” supporters around Elland Road with a tongue-in-cheek social media post, moments after the Championship’s announcement.

Writing on x on Wednesday (13 March) they said: “In news that will shock LUFC fans, we have been selected for TV again! Our game against Blackburn at Elland Road on Saturday 13th April, will now kick-off at 12:30pm.”

Will Leeds United be on Sky Sports against Blackburn Rovers?

It has become almost an expectation this season that every single one of Leeds’ league games will be moved to be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with nearly every match over the last three months being switched from its original kick-off time.

It has proven to be a subject of great irritation for Farke and supporters alike, with the Leeds United boss vocally voicing his frustrations with the constant schedule tinkering that he believes harms his squad’s promotion push.

Whether or not a two-and-a-half-hour switch will have a big impact on the Whites’ performance remains to be seen, but in a title race that has proven to be incredibly close this season, it does feel as though the broadcaster is meddling slightly.

Hopefully, Leeds will be able to brush off the shift in time as they did against both Wednesday and the Foxes and claim all three points. A win over John Eustace’s side could be a necessity if they want to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
