Leeds United set to pay less than £4.3m in compensation to sign striker Sonny Perkins
Leeds United are reportedly on course to seal the services of former West Ham striker Sonny Perkins this summer.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, a tribunal could decide the fee Leeds will owe the Hammers in case the two parties cannot come to an agreement over the compensation amount.
The Guardian had reported that a fee of £4.3million would be due to Fulham from Liverpool for their signing of Harvey Elliot, but it is understood that Leeds will not be paying as much in order to register the 18-year-old striker this summer.

Complicated?
Perkins is an England under-18s international and has already made his senior debut for the Hammers in the Europa League.
These things are taken into consideration by a tribunal when they’re deciding on the compensation amount which goes to the club he spent his training years in.
Given his bitter exit from West Ham, the chances of negotiations going smoothly with Leeds are less as they’re not going to be too keen on asking for a low price.
They felt hard done by in the way Perkins left the club and it will be interesting to see how much they ask the Whites to shell out.
Even in the aforementioned deal, Fulham wanted around £10million and Liverpool were clearly not willing to pay that much for a free agent signing.
The tribunal brought it down to more than half of that and this could be an option considered if Leeds are unsatisfied with what the London club demand.
In other Leeds United news, Jesse Marsch is extremely keen on bringing an ‘Exceptional’ striker to Elland Road this summer.
