Leeds United set to finalise Connor Roberts from Burnley amid update on Deadline Day medical – Phil Hay
Leeds United are on course to finalise a deal for Connor Roberts from Burnley as his medical is going “smoothly”, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist reported via Twitter on 1 February that the tests were advancing according to plan and the defender is due to be sealed “shortly”.
In his update on the outlet’s website (5.19pm) he added that the move is set to be a loan for the rest of the season without an option to make the deal permanent.
The 28-year-old is set to fill a transfer window “priority” at right-back after the exits of Djed Spence back to Tottenham and Luke Ayling to Middlesbrough.

The Whites have had trouble bringing reinforcements amid apparent fears from parent clubs that their players would not get enough game time at Elland Road.
It now looks like it has gone right down to the wire but Leeds United will finally have a new defender to bolster the manager’s options for the final months.
The links to Roberts were there for most of the month but it has taken until the final hours for a move to become reality.
But unless the Whites can do some further incoming business before the deadline it looks like they will now go with what they’ve got at left-back despite it looking like a need heading into January.
Junior Firpo is showing some of his best form for Leeds United and Sam Byram has been good this year but both are ongoing injury worries.
