Leeds United ‘set for Premier League relegation’ as Daniel Farke issues emerge
Leeds United have confirmed promotion to the Premier League after beating Stoke City on Monday, but Daniel Farke may get a reality check next season.
Mark Robins’ team were humbled at Elland Road on 21 April, as the hosts beat the Potters 6-0 in the Championship, securing an automatic promotion spot.
Joel Piroe fired Farke’s team past the Staffordshire outfit as the Dutch forward scored a poker in the opening 45 minutes, with Junior Firpo and Willy Gnonto also getting on the scoresheet.
With the West Yorkshire outfit set to play in the Premier League after a two-year exile, they could potentially have a tough time avoiding relegation.

Farke doesn’t have players to cope with Premier League football at Leeds United
Farke doesn’t have the players in his squad right now to cope with Premier League football, Chris Sutton says.
The ex-Norwich City forward believes the Whites will need to bolster their backline to have a chance in the English top-flight.

Sutton feels the German manager will try to play his expansive brand of football again next season, which could potentially be detrimental.
Speaking on Football Daily (21 April), the Englishman said: “With Leeds and the demands there as well, the fans want to see entertaining football. But they really need to stiffen up at the back. I think that will be an issue for [Farke].
“My feeling is he won’t change, and will still try to play that expansive brand of football, which he does do. Has he got the players to cope at Premier League level? I’m not so sure he has at this moment in time.”
49ers Enterprises must back Farke next summer
Farke has done a brilliant job at Elland Road to secure a top-two berth in the Championship despite facing several fitness issues in his squad over the course of the season.
The German manager has brought the best out of his squad, with players like Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell exceeding expectations.
With the West Yorkshire outfit now set to return to the Premier League, 49ers Enterprises must arguably bolster the squad.
Farke should be backed at Leeds next summer, with the owners expected to spend a significant amount of money to reinforce several positions.
Illan Meslier has lost his place in between the sticks at Elland Road after multiple errors in recent weeks, and that’s one position the Whites definitely need more quality in.
While Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk have formed an impressive partnership in defence, the West Yorkshire outfit may need more Premier League experience in the upcoming campaign.
Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev have the quality to be in the English top-flight, but their fitness issues will be concerning.
The Peacocks should also buy a reliable goalscorer to support Joel Piroe next season, and it’ll be interesting to see what the 49ers have in store in LS11.
