Leeds United set for major triple injury boost, Adam Forshaw to return v Crystal Palace - Ben Dinnery
Leeds United are set for a major triple injury boost ahead of their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.
Injury expert Ben Dinnery has shared that Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton will return to the squad after this small break.
On top of that, Adam Forshaw, who travelled but wasn’t involved at Watford will be back after a calf strain picked up.
This is big news for Jesse Marsch.
In an interview with talkSPORT this week, the American admitted that the squad was overtrained under Marcelo Bielsa which led to more injuries than usual within the team.
Everyone could see that, although it did cause some friction on social media from some disgruntled fans.
The proof is in the pudding though, with Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts set to be our only absentees after this.
Huge.
This is perfect for Leeds, who look set to take full advantage of this two-week break before travelling to Crystal Palace.
Getting the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper back to a consistent 100% will also be critical after making their returns from long-term problems this month.
Firpo and Shackleton may not appear like big boosts, but they will certainly bring that much-needed squad depth that we have been missing all season onto the bench.
No longer will we be seeing under-23 options that are never going to be used on there, with the likes of Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt likely to be the only two used by Marsch this season.
Forshaw was a strange and unexpected blow against Watford, but thankfully, it looks as though that is the only game he should miss.
In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani has broken his silence on Twitter sharing when he will leave the club
