Leeds United set for FA Cup cash injection at Elland Road

Leeds United could be set for a healthy cash injection if they can overcome Plymouth Argyle in their FA Cup replay on Tuesday (6 February), according to LeedsLive.

The news outlet reported on its website on Monday (5 February) that the Whites will receive £120,000 if they manage to beat the Pilgrims and make it through to the fifth round of the competition.

They will also be in line for TV broadcast money due to the clash being aired live on BBC One, while both teams will take 45 per cent of the revenue made on the gate receipts at Home Park.

Welcome bonus for Leeds United

The extra cash on offer will be a welcome bonus for Leeds as they prepare to make the long journey down to Plymouth for the replay.

There is no doubt that the Whites would have preferred to get over the line at Elland Road as another game and the mammoth trip to Devon is something they could have done without.

But Daniel Farke will be looking for his side to keep their momentum going to earn their place in the fifth round of the competition.

While the money on offer to come through the fourth round is by no means a game-changer, there could potentially be far richer rewards further down the line.

If they can make it through, they will come up against the winner of the replay between the high-flying Aston Villa and Chelsea, so it would be an excellent opportunity to test themselves against a Premier League side.
