Leeds United sensation Sonny Perkins surely sends Jesse Marsch message with England u-19s hat-trick
Since his move from West Ham in the summer, Sonny Perkins is doing well for the Leeds United reserve teams.
He’s already made his senior debut for the Hammers so his first-team bow for Leeds will not be too far away.
The 20-year-old is making it hard for Jesse Marsch to overlook him with performances like these and he did himself one better on Saturday.
Via Twitter, LUFC Youth, an account that gives timely and quality updates from Thorp Arch, wrote, “Sonny Perkins scored a first-half 𝗵𝗮𝘁-𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 for @England Under-19s in a 6-0 win against Georgia this afternoon.”
The international break has given players a chance to feature for their youth sides, and Perkins has done exceptionally for the Three Lions.
He scored his first-ever hat-trick for the England u-19s as they beat Georgia 6-0.
Perkins is clearly a cut above players his age and he needs to be playing senior football.
Leeds signed him and capitalised on his contractual situation at the London Stadium and he surely will be knocking on Marsch’s door sooner rather than later.
However, he will have Willy Gnonto in the way as he’s a full Italy international and made his recent appearance for them against England on Friday.
Many would argue that he’s ahead of Perkins in the pecking order but the English striker would argue that he’s the one in form who’s been banging in goals left, right and centre.
