Leeds United sensation Nohan Kenneh could be handed new deal after impressing v Manchester United U23s

Leeds United sensation Nohan Kenneh could be handed a new deal after impressing Jesse Marsch v Manchester United U23s.

The 19-year-old midfielder is very highly rated at Thorp Arch and many believe that he could be the next Kalvin Phillips as well.

Graham Smyth sees the club offering him a new contract as his current one runs out at the end of the season.

He wrote in the Yorkshire Evening Post, “I could see Nohan Kenneh getting a new deal before too long. He’s out of contract in the summer but he’s done well of late and impressed Jesse Marsch against Manchester United.”

The game was an under-23s affair that saw the Whites win 3-0 courtesy of goals from Stuart McKinstry, Max Dean and Archie Gray.

Good news

To be called the next Kalvin Phillips takes some doing and clearly, Kenneh has something about him.

He’s been a regular for the Under-23s and has been spotted in training with the senior team as well.

Along with being a capable defensive midfielder, he can also play at centre-back – showing tremendous versatility at a very young age.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay, who is the best source for all things Leeds United, has labelled him as ‘Supremely-gifted’.

The club cannot let go of such a talented player, that too for free, so we expect this new contract to be a mere formality as he does not seem discontent at the club in the slightest.

In other Leeds United news, a first-team regular has turned down a new Elland Road contract and will sign it only under one condition.
