Leeds United sensation Jack Jenkins undergoes surgery after injury on loan

Leeds United midfielder Jack Jenkins has reportedly undergone surgery during his loan spell at Salford City after picking up an injury.

According to LUFC Youth, he successfully underwent the injury and is now in the recovery stage.

They are a reliable Twitter account which offers behind-the-scenes coverage on the Under-18s and Under-21s Leeds side and is followed by Phil Hay, Adam Pope, Beren Cross and other estalished journalists.

Via Twitter, they wrote, “LUFCU21s midfielder Jack Jenkins has undergone successful surgery on an injury sustained while on loan at SalfordCityFC.”

Speedy recovery, Jenks!

Hope he gets well soon

Jenkins surely will be gutted as he went out on loan to gain first-team experience at Salford but now will face some time out.

He’s a midfielder who’s got a high ceiling and it would’ve been interesting to see his progression had he played the entire season.

Jenkins made his senior debut in the 3-0 defeat against Crawley Town in January 2021.

The 21-year-old is a versatile midfielder as he can be deployed at the base of a midfield three as well as in a more attacking box-to-box role.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, he’s also among the taller midfield players in the world and his physicality certainly helps in the middle of the park.

He’s still got time to improve and we’re hoping that this injury does not derail his progress as he deserves to be playing regularly.

There’s a good chance that Leeds loan him out for another season as he will have missed a decent chunk of games this season.
