Leeds United send scouts to watch Gil Vicente striker Fran Navarro

Leeds United have sent scouts to watch Gil Vicente striker Fran Navarro along with a host of Premier League clubs, according to TEAMtalk.

The 25-year-old Spaniard has been in excellent form with 36 goals in 76 league appearances for the Primeira Liga side.

TEAMtalk claim on Sunday 21 May, that Navarro has come under the “microscope” of Leeds, Leicester, Brentford, and Fulham. Leeds and Leicester’s move for the striker depend largely on their league status.

Navarro is set to enter the final 12 months of his current deal with the Premeira Liga side.

One condition

Much of Leeds’ transfer business will depend heavily on which league they’re playing their football in come the start of next season. The battle to avoid relegation will head to the final day after Everton’s draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s hard to speculate about which players could come through the door at Elland Road, with there being a huge difference between the Premier League and Championship when it comes to budgets.

Navarro certainly looks like an exciting talent, but with Leeds’ Premier League status up in the air and there being no director of football in place, it’s hard to see how transfer plans can be made.

All eyes will now be firmly focused on Goodison Park and Elland Road come the final day of the season, where we all know, anything can happen. Leeds United will be desperately hoping for Bournemouth to do them a favour. Gary O’Neil has worked wonders this season, one more positive would be welcomed in West Yorkshire.
