Leeds United have still not ended their hunt for a new striker with less than one week left in the window, according to Sky Sports.

Links to Wolves striker Hwang Hee-Chan have intensified in recent days, but Victor Orta is still said to be on the lookout for other options at Elland Road.

That means a deadline-busting transfer for an unnamed attacker could still be on the cards as Jesse Marsch refuses to rule out more action in this window.

Writing on their live blog on Friday evening [26 August, 16:05], Sky Sports shared the latest on the hunt for a new striker at Elland Road.

“Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch has not ruled out signing a new striker before the transfer window closes next week,” they wrote.

“Seven players have been added to Leeds’ first-team squad this summer, but they missed out on their top target earlier this month when Club Brugge’s Charles De Ketelaere opted to join AC Milan.

“Wolves’ Hwang Hee-chan is the latest in a list of strikers to have been linked with the Yorkshire club and, with lingering fitness doubts over Patrick Bamford, their search is still not over.”

Chequebook out.

Andrea Radrizzani is clearly ready to splash the cash again this week.

The only criteria is that it has to be the right player to mould into this squad, something which has been made very clear in recent weeks.

Charles De Ketelaere was targeted and big money was put aside because he would bring something completely different to what we currently have at Elland Road.

No one else that has been linked has had that type of quality, and although Hwang is an interesting proposition, it is uncertain whether or not Radrizzani would like to spend more than £20million on him.

If he was, we likely would have heard of a bid that has already been sent in, but there appears to be some caution around that ahead of Thursday’s deadline next week [01 September].

The search is still well and truly on, and we could see many names appear between now and the deadline, it’s just about picking that right name to come and make a difference.

All eyes are on Elland Road.
