Leeds United: Sam Greenwood sends message to Archie Gray as England Under-21 footage emerges
Leeds United loanee Sam Greenwood has sent a four-word social media message to Elland Road star Archie Gray.
It comes after the latter scored on his England Under-21s debut in their 5-1 win against Azerbaijan on Friday (22 March).
The 18-year-old came off the bench to find the back of the net in the Euro 2025 qualifying clash, with Harvey Elliott (two), Noni Madueke and Jaden Philogene also scoring.
The official England Instagram account shared footage of the goal on Friday, with Middlesbrough man Greenwood commenting: “Go on my mate.”
Leeds United star Archie Gray continues rapid rise
Gray has been simply sensational for Leeds this season, with manager Daniel Farke relying heavily upon the 18-year-old.
He has starred in both central midfield and right-back, with his displays greatly appreciated by the Elland Road faithful.
Farke was perhaps hopeful that his young star would be handed a much-needed rest during the latest international break, but England Under-21s had other ideas.
The teenager did come off the bench rather than start against Azerbaijan, in perhaps the only silver lining for Farke.
But the youngster is certain to feature once more in the next outing, with the Young Lions taking on Luxembourg Under-21s on Tuesday (26 March).
Farke will want all of his international players back as soon as possible, and importantly free from injury, although that is a rarity in this day and age.

The Elland Road club have a huge period ahead of them in a tense Championship campaign, with promotion to the Premier League very much on the cards this season.
