Robbie Savage delivers brutal Leeds United relegation verdict in Premier League

Robbie Savage has claimed that Leeds United will be relegated from the Premier League regardless of who they bring in as their new manager.

Leeds United have yet to secure a new head coach at the club following the sacking of Jesse Marsch after their damning loss to Nottingham Forest.

Savage confessed that despite making good signings like Weston McKennie in the January transfer window Leeds will still head down to the Championship.

“I think that with Jesse Marsch, they would have gone down and listen, do I think they will still go down? Yes, I do,” said Savage to William Hill as quoted by Leeds Live. (11 February)

“Nineteen points, yes they made a good signing in Weston McKennie but I just think that only one team in that bottom six has kept their manager, that’s David Moyes. I think Everton and West Ham will get out of it [the relegation zone] therefore Leeds – no matter who the manager is – are going down this season.”

Classic Savage.

This is just another classic Savage quote, one with no real meaning behind it and something that the Elland Road faithful won’t be too concerned about.

Yes, the club’s Premier League record this season is far from convincing, but the squad is young and exciting and with the right manager can go a long way.

Finding that said manager is proving to be a slight stumbling block right now, however, things should be getting signed and sealed by the end of this weekend.

It would be shocking if the Whites let this fiasco continue past the Manchester United match on Sunday and real questions would then have to be asked about the leadership of the club.

Nevertheless, until then, the Whites will have to keep their fingers crossed for some solid news in the next 48 hours, a win at home to United would also be a nice touch if possible.
