Leeds United ridicule Sheffield United with brutal 10-word message
Leeds United have sent a brutal reply to Sheffield United on social media after the 2-0 win in the Yorkshire derby on Friday (18 October).
The Whites moved up to second in the Championship, level on points with the third-placed Blades, as Pascal Struijk and Mateo Joseph secured a monumental victory at Elland Road.
Sheffield United were unbeaten in nine league matches heading into the tie and boasted about their undefeated record on X two weeks ago [5 October], to which the Leeds X admin issued a brutal reply.
The 10-word response simple read: “List of teams unbeaten in the EFL: End of list.”
Leeds United are flying high in the Championship
With all the distraction of the transfer news emerging from Leeds in the past few days, supporters would be forgiven for forgetting the side has quickly ascended up the Championship table after an underwhelming start to the season.
Joseph continued his stellar form from international duty by securing the three points in the closing embers of the game, delivering on his promise of pushing the Whites towards Premier League promotion.
Daniel Farke held a disappointing record against promotion rivals this year with draws against West Brom, Norwich City and Sunderland, as well as a 1-0 home loss to Burnley.
Leeds have always been in the conversation regarding the best teams in the Championship but still, it feels like the season is well and truly underway in West Yorkshire following the result as the race for the league title begins.
The Whites cannot afford to become complacent, though, as last season’s promotion failure will rest at the back of the minds of all those involved with the club. Still, it is certainly a statement of intent to the rest of the league.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are closing in on free agent transfer as a Joshua Guilavogui image emerges.
