Leeds United result v Portsmouth predicted by supercomputer
Leeds United will hope to return to winning ways when they face Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday after being held to a draw by West Brom in their previous outing.
The Whites’ five-game winning streak in the Championship came to an end last Saturday (1 March) after West Brom came from behind to play out a 1-1 draw and take a point away from Elland Road.
While Leeds still lead the table by three points, they will not want to drop points in consecutive games and allow Sheffield United to close the gap on them as they enter the final 10 matches of the season.
That is why Daniel Farke and Co will be determined to claim all three points when they travel down south on 9 March.

Leeds United favourites to beat Portsmouth
Meanwhile, Portsmouth saw their own three-game winning run end last weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Luton Town.
However, Pompey go into their fixture against Leeds United with a strong home record, having been unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 matches at Fratton Park.
The 17th-placed side have not tasted defeat at home since losing 1-0 against Millwall on 28 January and will be determined to maintain their fine form when they host the Whites.
That is not to say Leeds are under threat of losing against Portsmouth as the Opta supercomputer has rated them 57.3 per cent favourites to win on Sunday.
Date | Competition | Result | Score |
25 February 2012 | Championship | Draw | 0-0 |
22 January 2011 | Championship | Draw | 2-2 |
28 August 2007 | League Cup | Loss | 0-3 |
26 October | League Cup | Loss | 1-2 |
08 November 2003 | Premier League | Loss | 1-6 |
That makes Portsmouth the clear underdogs going into the game as they only have a 21.1 per cent chance of causing an upset over the table-toppers.
Meanwhile, there is a 21.6 chance that both teams share the spoils, meaning John Mousinho’s side have a 42.7 per cent chance of avoiding defeat and continuing their fine form at home.
It is worth noting that the two teams played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Elland Road in their opening game of the season.

Farke and Co must take three points away from Fratton Park
That said, Leeds United cannot afford to drop further points after being held to a draw by West Brom last weekend.
It is worth noting that Sheffield United can go level with the Elland Road outfit if they beat Preston on Saturday (8 March) and the Whites lose against Portsmouth.
Even a draw would put Leeds in a nervous position as it would allow the Blades to reduce the gap with them to just a point.
