Leeds United respond as Rangers table bid to sign Charlie Cresswell

Leeds United have reportedly received an offer from Rangers to sign Charlie Cresswell on a permanent basis this summer.

According to Football League World [19 June], Light Blues manager Michael Beale wants to sign the centre-back in the transfer window.

The 20-year-old has two more years left on his deal at Elland Road and the undisclosed offer has been turned down.

Keep him

Leeds do not know how many players will be leaving in the summer so it makes sense to keep their best young prospects at the club.

Marcelo Bielsa also liked Cresswell and waxed lyrical over him during his time at Elland Road in 2021.

Robin Koch has been linked with a move back to Germany and there are high chances of him considering it post relegation.

Max Wober was already a man in demand before moving to Elland Road and interest in him is not going to reduce this summer.

It remains to be seen if Pascal Struijk stays put, because as of now there are no credible reports linking him with a move away from Leeds.

He’s played at centre-back as well as left-back and will be an important utility option for the next manager who takes over at Leeds.

Until that person is not in place, decisions over incomings and outgoings must not be made and the focus must be on getting the new manager in.

In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering bringing in as manager this summer.
