Leeds United relegation chances shift in supercomputer prediction after Nottingham Forest defeat
Leeds have been dragged back into the relegation battle after the 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
The optimism that Leeds started the season with has disappeared and been replaced by a nervousness after the weekend’s results.
Leeds are just one point above the drop zone, after Forest and West Ham both won, and there is increased pressure on Daniel Farke‘s position.
The Whites’ chances of dropping back to the Championship have been revealed in a new prediction.
Leeds expected to be relegated after Nottingham Forest loss
Leeds were still expected to stay up after the loss to Brighton, with a 36.69 per cent chance of relegation and an expected points tally of 38.
However, that has shifted dramatically after the latest defeat, as the Opta Analyst supercomputer now believes that the Whites will finish 19th, and fall back to the second tier.
Farke’s side now have a 51.44 per cent chance of going down, with an expected points tally of 36, with only Wolves lower than them in the new prediction.

How can Leeds keep themselves in the Premier League?
Leeds’ task with not get any easier, as they now face Aston Villa, Man City, Chelsea and then Liverpool in a brutal run of matches.
There seems to be little chance of them picking up points from any of those matches, so they could be stuck on 15 points after their first 15 matches.
The Peacocks need to start scoring more goals, as only three players have more than one strike in the top-flight this season.
- Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha have notched two strikes in the league
- Joe Rodon is the only other with more than one goal
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored only one goal, despite taking 17 shots
Farke’s side have already shown that they can be solid defensively, especially at Elland Road, but they have struggled to put away their chances.
That needs to change, and quickly, if they are to have any chance of staying in the division, beyond the end of the season.
If they cannot add goals to their game, there is little hope for them keeping their spot in the top-flight.
