Leeds United: Real talk between agents on Harry Redknapp speculation

There had been some real talk through agents about Harry Redknapp potentially taking over at Leeds United, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The report however shares that fans concerned by the appointment of the Premier League veteran can rest easy as it won’t be happening.

Jones confessed that from people he has talked to he has got the impression that a Redknapp move to Leeds United is a no-goer despite the speculation.

“If Leeds fans are worried about the prospect of Redknapp coming in then I think they should put themselves at ease, I’m told it won’t happen,” said Jones as quoted by GIVEMESPORT. (17 January)

“There was some real talk through agents about it in terms of him potentially being considered but, from people I talked to, I don’t think this is going to be a goer.”

Time machine gone wrong.

Going back a decade or so and appointing Redknapp may have been a decent move for Leeds United but these bizarre links just don’t make sense now.

Yes, we all love a bit of deadline-day Redknapp shenanigans and he is undoubtedly one of the better English managers in recent times, but he isn’t the guy to sort out Leeds United right now.

It would be a gamble of massive proportions to give someone like Redknapp the head coaches role at Leeds and the club would be better off sticking with Michael Skubala.

Fortunately, as Jones stated above, it seems the move for Redknapp is in the no-go zone anyway, which will likely be a massive relief to the Elland Road faithful.

Making any old appointment is just silly at this stage, especially given the amount of time the Leeds hierarchy has spent in their search for a new boss.

At this point, they may as well stick by their initial guns and wait for the ideal long-term candidate to come knocking.
