Leeds United ready top striker transfer after Premier League promotion

Leeds United were finally fired to the Premier League by Joel Piroe on Easter Monday, but that could bring stiffer competition for the striker.

The Whites are in a celebratory mood at the moment after securing promotion to the Premier League, beating Stoke 6-0, before Burnley got past Sheffield United.

There is plenty to cheer and look forward to from a fan perspective, but behind the scenes, the decision makers at Leeds now need to be hard at work preparing for next season.

Remaining in the Premier League has proven to be an impossible task for the newly promoted sides for the past two seasons, which is why the recruitment will be so important.

Leeds United need a proven goalscorer

Daniel Farke will be aiming to improve his team immediately across all areas of the squad to create competitive options all around.

The Daily Mail has reported in its print edition [23 April, pg 65] that Leeds are focusing on signing a “top striker” in a bid to provide a serious goal threat in the Premier League.

The Whites are expected to lose the services of Patrick Bamford this summer, therefore, there is a need for Leeds to find a replacement.

All three of the teams set to be relegated from the Premier League this season are the lowest scoring in the division, highlighting the need to bring in a proven forward who can get Leeds out of trouble when needed.

Piroe scored four against Stoke, but he will need more help from those around him.

Leeds United ready transfer blitz

It isn’t just a striker that is needed this summer, as all of the signs are pointing toward the Whites looking at bringing in a fresh goalkeeper.

Illan Meslier has struggled dramatically throughout the season, making countless errors that have led to significant points being dropped.

Karl Darlow has ended up replacing him toward the end of the season, and the lack of faith that Farke seemingly has in his first-choice option highlights the need for Leeds to improve this area of the pitch.

Big changes are coming at Elland Road.
