Leeds United ready to sign Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres regardless of whether Javi Gracia stays next season
Leeds United are plotting a move for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres and see him as a key addition to their side regardless of whether new manager Javi Gracia stays next season, according to TEAMtalk.
The Whites announced that the former Watford coach as their new manager [21 February] following the sacking of Jesse Marsch on 6 February.
And according to TEAMtalk sources [21 February], the Whites are plotting a move for Gyokeres this summer after previously being linked last month [TEAMtalk, 7 January].

Premier League rivals Everton and Brentford were also named last month in the hunt for the striker, dubbed “one of the best forwards outside the Premier League” by TEAMtalk [21 February].
However, Coventry [Coventry Telegraph, 9 January] revealed they had received no bids for the forward.
However, latest reports [TEAMtalk, 21 February] have emerged revealing the Whites are still plotting a move for the forward, regardless of whether the club suffer relegation and Gracia stays at the helm, as they see him as a key addition both in the English top-flight or the Championship.
Stellar addition
Regardless of whether the Whites remain in the Premier League or not next season, the club will certainly be on the hunt for more goals in the summer.
So far this campaign, Leeds have only registered just 28 goals in the league and if they are to increase their positioning in the English top flight next campaign, they’d need a reliable source of goals. A striker capable of hitting 10+ goals consistently.

With Patrick Bamford rapidly on the decline at Elland Road and Georginio Rutter still yet to find his feet on West Yorkshire, the Whites can do no wrong in recruiting Gyokeres who has enjoyed two sensational goalscoring campaigns in the Championship hitting 17 last term, and 14 so far this season.
The club will certainly have more of a chance of recruiting his services provided they remain in the Premier League and after their rather impressive appointment of Gracia, the club’s chances have received a huge boost considering the Spaniard’s experience.
Gyokeres is a stellar addition for any Premier League club outside the top six.
