Leeds United ready FA appeal as Daniel Farke belief emerges after evidence vs Man City

Daniel Farke believes he did nothing wrong as Peter Bankes sent the Leeds United manager off against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s team secured the three points with a 1-0 win at Elland Road on 28 February, with the German boss subsequently shown a red card after the full-time whistle.

The Whites are now set to lodge an appeal with the FA in a bid to overturn the decision, with hopes that reviewing the ref cam footage will prove the 49-year-old head coach’s innocence, according to the Mirror.

The news outlet reports on 1 March that Farke claims he didn’t say a word to the on-field referee before being sent off for approaching him, and the German manager is confident the footage will prove his innocence.

Will Daniel Farke be in Leeds United dugout vs Sunderland?

Usually, if a manager receives a red card, they are banned from the touchline for the next game, but Farke will be in the Leeds dugout as they face Sunderland on 3 March.

With the Whites ready to appeal the sending off, the German manager isn’t expected to be forced to the stands at Elland Road, as his appeal won’t be dealt with in time.

Regis Le Bris’ team have gone off the boil in recent weeks after a strong start to the season, failing to win any of their last four Premier League matches.

The West Yorkshire outfit will want to get back to winning ways against the Black Cats as they look to increase the gap with the relegation zone.

West Ham United look determined to get out of 18th place, and the Peacocks wouldn’t want to take their place in the bottom three.

Daniel Farke should save some rage for one player at Elland Road

Farke has shown immense faith in Brenden Aaronson in recent weeks after his purple patch saw him cement a place in the starting lineup.

The USMNT star has been pivotal after the German manager’s change in system, but he has been underwhelming of late.

It wouldn’t be surprising to learn that Farke may have had a strong word with some of his players for the decrease in standards at the West Yorkshire outfit.

The final 10 league games of the season are pivotal for Leeds, and they can’t afford to make consistent mistakes.
