Gelhardt has already made himself a big member of the squad with his performances last season during the relegation battle when Patrick Bamford was out injured, while Marsch has publicly praised Greenwood for picking up his instructions quicker and better than everyone else.
Summerville’s situation was slightly different though, with his first-team football limited because of the options in the squad and his lack of experience.
Loan moves were mooted in January but Marcelo Bielsa blocked them. Marsch has however made him part of the first-team squad regularly now and he is obviously convinced that he will play more regularly.
A new deal ties down some excellent talent for Elland Road for coming seasons and fans can be delighted to know they will be developing here instead.
