Leeds United rank among elite in Deloitte Money League amid official £171m reveal

Leeds United rank 23rd in the Deloitte Money League after confirming a revenue of £171million last season.

On 6 April, Leeds uploaded their financial figures for the 2020/21 campaign on Companies House and their huge revenue ranks them among the best in the world.

According to football finance expert Swiss Ramble, Leeds have made the top-25 and are even above clubs like AS Roma and Newcastle United.

Writing via their Twitter account, Swiss Ramble wrote: “£171m revenue was enough to secure them 23rd place in the Deloitte Money League, which ranks clubs globally.

“This put them just behind Sevilla £177m, who have won the Europa League six times, but ahead of AS Roma £169m and Atalanta £166m.”

Leeds United are massive

It hasn’t taken Leeds to reintroduce themselves among the top dogs in world football after winning promotion from the Championship.

Marcelo Bielsa took the Whites back to the Premier League and secured a ninth-placed finish while Andrea Radrizzani and 49ers chief Paraag Marathe ensured impressive financial figures in a time of great uncertainty.

Leeds’ revenue is huge when you consider the fact that super-rich Newcastle and Premier League perennials Southampton are among the Premier League clubs below us.

Leeds are only just behind Aston Villa too, who are backed by billionaires Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris.

We’re also ahead of Champions League regulars in Roma, Napoli, Atalanta and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Yes, the Premier League’s broadcast deal has done a lot to boost this but so has the fact that the Whites are a well-run club with a huge fanbase.

Well done, to all involved.
