Leeds United: Andrea Radrizanni joins board away from club as document emerges

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has shared a Companies House document showing that Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizanni is joining the board of streaming giant DAZN.

It seems the Italian businessman is looking for his next venture away from the Whites as speculation grows on his Elland Road exit.

The Times reported on 9 November 2022 that Leeds United’s American shareholders were gearing up for a full takeover of the club and have the option to buy out majority shareholder Radrizanni.

“Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizanni joins the board of sport streaming company DAZN,” said Maguire on Twitter. (17 February, 7:24 PM)

Is this the next move in Radrizanni slowly but surely fazing himself out of West Yorkshire? Fans will have to wait and see.

Sour note.

If Radrizanni is to leave Elland Road soon and before a suitable manager is lined up, he could well be leaving on a rather big sour note.

It’s been a messy few weeks and the Italian has hardly covered himself or the Leeds United hierarchy in much glory over how things have been handled.

After a super-successful January transfer window where in all fairness, Radrizanni and Victor Orta excelled, they have fallen short in attempts to lure a top-class manager to West Yorkshire.

Hopefully, fans and critics will be proven wrong over the next few weeks but this whole fiasco won’t be easily forgotten on the terraces of Elland Road.

It seems a pivotal point in the leadership of the club and one that indicates that a change is likely the best route forward for all parties involved.

Any relegation could prove to be a spanner in the works for any potential takeover however, with De Telegraaf reporting on 13 February that a full takeover would be completed on 1 July only if the dreaded drop is avoided.
