Leeds United put Adam Forshaw for sale with top Championship clubs to show transfer interest

Leeds United have reportedly put Adam Forshaw on sale in the January transfer window with an Elland Road exit now on the cards.

According to former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, he will gain plenty of interest from clubs at the top of the EFL Championship.

The 30-year-old has made 82 appearances for the Whites but now has fallen down the pecking order at the club and could be shown the door.

Jones told Give Me Sport, “It probably is and he is available in January. I’m told that it is true.

“There will be interest in him, particularly at the top of the Championship.”

Time to go

Forshaw has been a mainstay under Marcelo Bielsa and the fans will love him for the time he’s spent at Elland Road.

His work in the middle of the park often went underappreciated due to what some other players with more flair did.

However, despite not reaching the 100 appearances mark, it’s fair to say that Leeds fans will remember him fondly and sing his chants.

Over the last year or so, he’s not had the best of luck with injuries and that could be one of the main reasons why the Whites are open to parting ways.

Apart from that, it also seems like Jesse Marsch isn’t the biggest of fans and if there are midfielders ahead of Forshaw in the pecking order, he’s not really adding much value to the squad.

There seems to be a market in the second division for him and it remains to be seen if Victor Orta can manage to fetch a decent fee for him.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could now be looking to sign an award-winning Ligue 1 ace and bring him to Elland Road in January.
