Leeds United PSR update shared as January transfer window looms
Leeds United are in a “good position” regarding the EFL’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) after their recent transfer business, according to The Athletic.
The news outlet reported [29 November] that the pressure on the Whites has been eased after their low spending in the summer and the sales of some big names like Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter.
It has also been noted that if the Peacocks were to win promotion to the Premier League, then the EFL’s PSR parameters would no longer be a concern for them.
Leeds United stability down to 49ers
The 49ers have done a brilliant job since stepping foot in Elland Road and have turned the tide after Andrea Radrizzani’s spell ended in a lot of disrest, with the fanbase turning against the Italian.
While the previous transfer window raised a few eyebrows as the Whites parted ways with some of their most important players after losing to Southampton in the play-offs final last season, it has turned out to be inconsequential.
The Peacocks made a fair bit of profit in the summer and got in players like Jayden Bogle, Largie Ramazani, Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell for reasonably cheap.
The addition of Tanaka and Rothwell has been especially impressive, with the two midfielders taking the mantle after the injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.

Leeds are now sitting at the top of the table in the Championship after their 3-0 victory against Luton Town on 27 November.
The Whites look on course to get back into the English top flight and are rightfully one of the favourites to do so.
With the improved financial situation at the Peacocks, it will be interesting to see how the 49ers will operate once the West Yorkshire club is back among the big guns.
