Leeds United promotion chances predicted by supercomputer after West Brom draw

Leeds United received a minor blow to their promotion chances after dropping two points against West Brom on Saturday afternoon.

Despite taking the lead, Leeds were forced to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw at home to West Brom, allowing Sheffield United to make up some ground in the race for a top-two finish.

The Whites certainly remain in the driving seat, but a below par performance at Elland Road was the reason behind two dropped points.

Heading into the final 11 games of the season, Daniel Farke’s side simply need to maintain their consistency and find ways to keep picking up points in the manner in which they currently are.

Farke hoping for promotion at the second attempt

Off the back of what was a disappointing campaign last time out, the pressure is on Farke to deliver promotion this season, and based on the latest supercomputer predictions, they are expected to do just that.

Via Opta Analyst, the Whites have an 85.24 per cent chance of winning the title, with a very favourable 97.16 per cent chance of achieving automatic promotion.

Leeds are expected to win the Championship

Farke‘s men are predicted to finish the season one point shy of 100, seven clear of Sheffield United, who are now the favourites to finish second.

If Leeds can finish on 99 points, it would be a remarkable achievement and certainly one that they are fully deserving of, although Farke will have to start utilising other players more often as we approach the latter stages of the campaign.

Willy Gnonto must be used for Leeds

While the likes of Manor Solomon and Dan James have been excellent this season, rotation at this stage is crucial, and Willy Gnonto is deserving of more minutes.

Leeds are not far away from the promotion line, and that rotation will go a long way towards them achieving it.

11 games remain for the Whites, five of which are at home, and it’s looking very likely that the season will end in success for Farke’s side.
