Leeds United promotion chances predicted by supercomputer after Coventry win
Leeds United have had their chances of promotion boosted significantly after their 2-0 victory over Coventry City, according to Opta Analyst.
Leeds had the last laugh over Frank Lampard on Wednesday night (5 February), taking all three points from Coventry in a 2-0 victory.
The scoreline perhaps flattered the hosts, who could have easily conceded many, many more had Leeds showcased a higher level of ruthlessness in the final third, with several wasted chances.
Nonetheless, it was another crucial three points for the visitors as they continue their push for promotion.
Premier League beckons for Leeds United
Based on the current trajectory, Farke looks set to mastermind a return to the Premier League for Leeds, and it would take some fall-off for the Whites to fail in their attempts.
The result leaves the Whites five points clear at the summit of the Championship, with the supercomputer now awarding them a 70.7 per cent chance of winning the Championship, up from 60.16 per cent following their draw with Plymouth.
Leeds are predicted to finish the season with 95 points and have a remarkable 91.08 per cent chance of achieving promotion.
With a healthy cushion at the top of the division, Leeds just need to keep winning their games and showcase the level of consistency that has seen them succeed in recent weeks.
However, that could all change with a series of potentially troubling fixtures approaching that includes the likes of Sunderland, Sheffield United and West Brom. All three sides are chasing promotion.
The league table upon the conclusion of those fixtures will provide a huge insight into who will go on to achieve their ultimate goal and if Leeds can at least remain unbeaten, they will be in pole position.
Lessons must be learnt from last season

After the disappointment of last season, promotion is almost essential for the Whites this time out and as things stand, everything is falling into place for that to happen.
However, things can change in an instant and Leeds fans will be as aware of that just as much as anyone else given how high the expectations for promotion were last season.
That experience of failure will still be felt by several figures at Elland Road this season and there is no doubt that they will be keen to avoid a repeat of that.
The remainder of the season promises to be an exciting one but also a nail-biting one.
