Leeds United Premier League prediction made by Sky Sports pundit as ‘Scary’ claim dropped

Gary Rowett expects Leeds United to win the Championship and secure promotion back to the Premier League.

The Sky Sports pundit saw the game against Sheffield United at Elland Road in October and was left blown away by the depth in attack the Whites have.

He has praised the likes of Largue Ramazani, Willy Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson and has also lauded the likes of Mateo Joseph, Manor Solomon and Patrick Bamford.

Rowett told the Football League Paper, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post on 4 November: “I walked into Elland Road that night [vs Sheffield United] thinking I was probably watching the best two teams in the division.

“And don’t get me wrong – I still think Sheffield United have a very, very good chance under Chris [Wilder]. But what I came away thinking is that Leeds just have so many attacking options, I would be so surprised if they didn’t win the league this year. So, so surprised.

“Just look at what they did that night. They started off with a front four of Largie Ramazani, Willy Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson. Then they bring on Mateo Joseph, they bring on Dan James, they bring on Manor Solomon. Those three have all played in the Premier League by the way.

“And people forget, they also brought on Patrick Bamford in the 90th minute. That’s an England international, thrown on as almost a token gesture. It’s an embarrassment of riches really. When you look at that front eight, any one would probably get a game for every other team in the league. That’s scary.”

Leeds United arguably have the best attack in the Championship this season

Farke has at his disposal a Leeds squad that’s brimming with attacking talent and the onus is on him to get them back to the top flight.

The depth in quality from players like Ramazani, Gnonto, Piroe, and Solomon, all capable of performing at the Premier League level, underscores the potential for an overwhelmingly potent offensive strategy.

This gives the German the chance to keep rotating his players to keep everyone fit and injury free without suffering dips in quality.

Despite the challenges posed by injuries, the squad’s composition suggests a capability to outscore opponents, which could be pivotal in the Championship’s less defensively structured environment.

Farke’s tactical acumen will be crucial in maximising this offensive depth, ensuring Leeds not only compete but dominate, potentially securing a swift return to the Premier League.
