Leeds United poised to hire former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder
Leeds United are reportedly “poised” to secure the appointment of former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder as they look for Jesse Marsch’s successor.
According to I News on 12 February, the Dutchman is in line for a swift return to football after being sacked by the Amsterdam outfit two weeks ago.
He could be appointed before the clash against Everton on Saturday, 18 February, ensuring that he’ll be in charge of the game.

Short term?
If Schreuder is going to be here for the short term and be a placeholder until the club appoint a permanent manager, then most fans will be okay with it.
Given his track record at Ajax, he is not someone the Leeds fans will be over the moon about for sure.
However, if they know that he’ll only be there for a few months, it will be a more appetising thing as he’ll just be there to get the club out of relegation trouble.
He is known for his possession-oriented playing style, which emphasises quick and accurate passing – which is why he was considered to manage Ajax.

He’s been an assistant at Barcelona and even under Julian Nagelsmann so it’s evident that his playing philosophy is akin to what the Leeds hierarchy wants.
Hopefully, we get a decision on this sooner rather than later as the players will require at least a couple of training sessions before the Everton game to get used to his system.
