Leeds United players send Kalvin Phillips messages ahead of EUROs final on Sunday
Leeds United players have reacted on Instagram after Kalvin Phillips issued a final rallying call to the nation ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2020 final.
Phillips is expected to start for England versus Italy at Wembley as the Three Lions eye their first major trophy since 1966.
Ahead of the crunch clash, Phillips posted what appears to be a final message to the nation before he turns his full attention to the game.

He wrote on his personal Instagram profile on Saturday afternoon [10/07/21]: “Thanks everyone for your phenomenal support so far. It’s an honour to represent this country and we will give it our all to bring it home.”
A number of Leeds players started to flood the comments section in support of their teammate, with Pascal Struijk and Ian Poveda posting a fire emoji and love heart emojis respectively.
Luka Ayling also sent a message to Phillips ahead of Sunday, writing: “We are not done yet. Bring on Sunday boy.”

Bring it home
Who would have thought this time last year that Phillips would be one of the poster boys as England head into their first major final in 55 years?
Whites supporters knew all about his talent and it was only a matter of time before he broke into the England squad, but it has still taken a significant amount of work to gain Gareth Southgate’s trust and assert himself as an integral member of the first XI.
Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson appeared to be immovable objects in the Three Lions midfield, but the latter’s injury during the second half of the Premier League season opened the door for Phillips, and he has taken his chance with both hands.
Despite the Liverpool captain returning to full fitness Phillips has still been tasked with a crucial role in the England midfield, and appears a certainty to start Sunday’s final.
Just imagine the reception the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ will receive when he gets back to Elland Road in August, if England pick up the trophy.
It would be some atmosphere, and it’s on the brink of becoming a reality.
