Leeds player wears training kit of former club whilst recording home workout
Leeds United and Ian Poveda have yet to form a solid relationship on the pitch since his arrival from Manchester City.
The England youth international was held in high regards by the Premier League giants, but Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta managed to pull off a free-transfer during the January window.
Poveda has yet to make his Championship debut and hasn’t even been featuring on the bench in the past couple of months while settling for game time in the under-23s.
Every Leeds player was sent home from Thorp Arch last week because of the coronavirus suspension, with training not expected to happen again until at least the beginning of April.
Rob Price and the fitness team at Elland Road have given each player a strict exercise routine as well as equipment such as a bike and free weights to use.
Interestingly, Poveda posted one of his workouts on his Instagram account on Friday and eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted that the 20-year-old was still wearing his Manchester City training kit – strange.

Before the break, Poveda put in one of his best performances for the Whites in the under-23’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley with Bielsa present at Oakwell to see the winger claim an assist after a great run.

That sort of form will have given Bielsa something to think about before the enforced coronavirus break, but that has set Poveda back a couple of notches in his hunt for first-team action at Elland Road.
It seems strange to see the winger still wearing his Manchester City clothing, but at least he was in the gym keeping up his fitness levels in an attempt to influence Leeds’ promotion push in their final nine games.
