Leeds United player Jamie Shackleton snubs Reading for Millwall loan move

Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton will not be moving to Reading as he’s reportedly poised to join Millwall on loan.

According to Berkshire Live, the Royals have missed out on securing the services of the 22-year-old with him now set to join their Championship rivals.

Good move

Shackleton desperately needed some minutes under his belt next season and Jesse Marsch clearly does not seem to be rating him that high.

Thus, it made sense to give him a move on loan at a club in the Championship as he would play there week in and week out.

There was no interest from any Premier League club which is understandable as he’s barely featured in the top flight as a regular first-team player.

Most of his games have been where he’s either filling it at right-back or in central midfield and hopefully, a loan move does him the world of good.

Hopefully, in terms of incomings, Leeds are not yet done with their business as they’ve got to sign a striker, left-back as well as a backup goalkeeper if possible.

We’re expecting at least two more incomings before the window closes and hoping that the likes of Jack Harrison and Illan Meslier are not targeted by rich clubs.

In other Leeds United news, Jesse Marsch is extremely keen on bringing an ‘Exceptional’ striker to Elland Road this summer.
