Leeds United: Phil Hay shares undisclosed news on Max Wober transfer

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has officially shared the news of Max Wober joining Leeds United in the club’s first signing of the January transfer window.

Wober has been linked with a move to Elland Road for weeks now and Victor Orta and co have finally signed off on this one.

Hay confessed that Wober has signed a deal at Leeds United until 2027 for an undisclosed fee of around £10million, a solid price for the 24-year-old.

“Done deal – Leeds United complete the signing of Max Wober from RB Salzburg,” said Hay on Twitter.

“Contract to 2027. Undisclosed fee in the region of £10m and first arrival of the window.”

Here we go.

Leeds United have gotten off to a flyer in the January transfer window and on the third day of it being open have already made their first official signing.

And to make things even better, it’s in a problem position that the club have been desperately trying to solve for what seems like an eternity now.

Wober is a classy talent and will be able to fill Leeds United’s left-back void when needed and he’s also just as capable of playing in a central defensive role.

Jesse Marsch will be licking his lips at this one, especially when you consider the relatively cheap fee the Whites have had to pay for the RB Salzburg star.

Whether Wober will be signed and ready to play against West Ham United on January 4 remains to be seen, but that Premier League clash may have come just a bit too soon for him.

In other Leeds United news, this star man has been ruled out of the clash v West Ham while another senior ace is still a doubt
