Phil Hay shares if Leeds United will have Georginio Rutter available v Aston Villa for Premier League debut
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has shared whether Georginio Rutter will be available for the Leeds United Premier League clash v Aston Villa on 13 January.
It was confirmed by The Athletic on 12 January that Rutter had agreed to a deal to sign for Leeds United and is flying into England to complete his medical.
Nevertheless, Hay confessed that there is “no chance” of the forward being involved in the Villa clash which will be disappointing to fans.
“Leeds United and Hoffenheim agree terms for Georginio Rutter,” announced Hay on Twitter (12 January).
“No chance of him being involved at Villa so pressure off in terms of medical etc. Should fly in from Germany shortly.”
On a whole, the board have got these unknown signings pretty right in recent times, with the likes of Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville shining.
Hopefully, Rutter will be in the same mould of these two gems and can really hit the ground running when he officially joins the club.
Rutter may still change his mind if he tunes into the game on 13 January, let’s hope he puts pen to paper before then so he has no other choice than a potential relegation scrap.
All jokes aside, it’s nice to see Victor Orta and co actually move forward with their transfer plans rather than the constant garbage, rumours and hearsay.
This is how you get transfer business done quickly and effectively and you’ve got to give him and the board kudos for what they’ve done in January so far.
That’s not to say that the board haven’t made poor signings in their time, they definitely have, but this one seems very different.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are keen on signing this Wolves player in January.
