Leeds United: Peter Crouch reacts as footage emerges of what Patrick Bamford did in win v Peterborough

Peter Crouch was left blown away by the goal scored by Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford in their 3-0 FA Cup win over Peterborough United.

Bamford scored a stunning strike for Leeds at The Weston Homes Stadium to put them 2-0 up after he teed up Ethan Ampadu for the opening goal on Sunday (7 January).

The BBC’s official Twitter account shared footage of the goal [7 January], to which Crouch responded with a one-word description of Bamford’s second goal of the campaign.

He wrote: “Beauty.”

No chance

Bamford controlled a long pass on his chest, swivelled and volleyed a dipping strike over Fynn Talley from about 25 yards out for which the Peterborough goalkeeper had absolutely no chance.

The fact the strike was all done in one, slick motion made it just that bit more beautiful to watch.

Leeds United

Bamford has been known for the audacious at times during his career at Elland Road, it’s just a shame fans haven’t seen enough of them over the last year and a half.

It’s no secret that the former Middlesbrough striker has struggled with form and fitness issues lately which has somewhat affected his time spent on the pitch for Daniel Farke’s side.

However, it is now two goals in two games for the 30-year-old striker and he may just be picking some form at the perfect time for Leeds United. Fans must not forget his superb assist for Ampadu’s opener too, a lovely chest control into his path.

All of a sudden, Farke now has another option to choose from up top. Joel Piroe must now be quaking in his boots over his regular position in the Leeds United attack right now, it’s under serious threat with Bamford in this form.

In other Leeds United news, the son of a billionaire is reportedly “obsessed” with the idea of a certain development at Elland Road.
