Leeds United: Paraag Marathe spotted at Elland Road during ‘outrageous’ win v Leicester City
Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe was spotted taking in the Whites’ “outstanding” Championship win over Leicester City, according to Beren Cross.
Daniel Farke’s side closed the gap at the top of the Championship with a remarkable 3-1 win over the league leaders at Elland Road on Friday (23 February) night, thanks to goals from Connor Roberts, Patrick Bamford and a Wout Faes own goal.
Leicester City had plenty of chances to claim all three points but as Leeds Live journalist Cross suggested, the Whites pulled off an “outrageous” win in front of their chairman at Elland Road.
Writing on X on Friday (23 February) he said: “Cannot believe Leeds have won that. Outrageous. Outstanding. The title race is alive. Leicester should have been out of sight.
“Hosts have punished them emphatically. Marathe here to see it all too.”
Leeds United show the 49ers they’re ready for the Premier League
49ers Enterprises and Marathe have backed Farke impressively since the German arrived at Elland Road in the summer, but on Friday night, the German showed the Leeds United owners exactly why he deserves that sort of respect.
While the Whites were second best for much of the contest, they found a way to fight back and claim all three points in impressive fashion as they took every half chance that came their way, even if it required more than a bit of fortune.
Those sorts of games can be decisive, not only in the race for promotion but the title and it is starting to feel like both pundits and supporters are genuinely beginning to believe that the Whites will be playing Premier League football next term.
Hopefully, Marathe will be similarly optimistic following Friday’s huge win over Leicester City and the Leeds chairman will be preparing to once again back Farke during the summer transfer window.
