Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani convinces Sampdoria board for takeover

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani, along with Matteo Manfredi, has convinced the Sampdoria board for the takeover of the club.

According to Gazzetta [27 May], white smoke has been reached and the takeover will go ahead on Monday, 29 May.

It’s also understood that there is a deadline of 30 May to pay the salaries at the club before they can receive the parachute payments for relegation.

Finally

The deal will be costing the buying consortium £26million and it remains to be seen what Radrizzani’s plans are once that goes ahead.

He has gone ahead with this purchase in the weeks where Leeds have slipped in the Premier League table and find themselves in relegation trouble.

They need a final-day miracle against Spurs and hope that results elsewhere go in their favour or it’ll be curtains for them.

The fact that there are three teams fighting for just one spot makes it extremely challenging for the Whites to get out of this and finish 17th.

Relegation appears to be destined and this would undoubtedly bring down the valuation of the club as it’ll then be a second-tier asset.

If Radrizzani fails to reach an agreement with the San Francisco 49ers, there is a chance of him staying on for next season as well.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
